This weekend we did not race on Friday, the team & I went out to Cowtown Speedway to watch my little
sister, Grace, race her go-kart!
And she did great! After the races, my dad and I headed out to Missouri.
This weekend was sure to be a tough one, the rest of the team had to work, it was a ASCoT National Tour
race, and it was up to my dad and I to do our best!
Before the races on Saturday, we stopped and had lunch with my some of my dads family, which was a lot
of fun. And then a few of the relatives came out to the track also!
When we finally got to the track, I was AMAZED with how nice the facility was!
This race was a ASCoT VS. WOW race. There was about 50 cars there. [I had to draw for myself this
weekend, which I was pretty nervous about]. I ended up drawing a fairly good number which put us
starting 2nd row outside right behind Gary Lee Maier and Travis Rilat.
In the heat race we ran 3rd the majority of the race, but then we had our lucky break.
The 11x & 29 car got together in turn 4, and I made the pass just as the caution was coming out! After
restarting two times, I won my first ASCoT National heat race, which locked me into the A main, and I even
got to re-draw!
I redrew the 6th postition and started 3rd row outside! After examining the track my dad and I made what
we thought were the correct adjustments to the car for the A main.
When the race first started and I was in 4th, I thought "Yeah, this is it." But after a restart, and a few laps, I
realized we may have went the wrong way with setup.We fell back, and finished 18th.
Overall we had a great night though! I'd like to thank my dad for all of his hard work this weekend, it really
payed off!
This Friday we will be running another ASCoT show in Paris, Texas.And on Saturday in Little Rock,
Arkansas, also an ASCoT show!
